About This Book
Maddie Scott is a mystery. To herself as well as to the Babbling Brook Naked Poker Club gang. Josephine and Norman meet Maddie after they help Maddie’s adoptive mother, Agatha, return stolen art worth over three hundred million dollars.
Returning the art, with the subsequent publicity that generates, poses a risk to Maddie from angry collectors her adoptive father scammed with fake paintings. Seeking safety, Maddie moves to Cincinnati. With Josephine’s help, she obtains a position as an art restorer at the Cincinnati Art Museum and moves in with Devi and Mac who are currently house-sitting a mini-mansion.
All is going well, except for the man who keeps showing up and asking questions about Maddie. Then there’s the continuing mystery of who Maddie is. But since Agatha refused, to the end of her life, to give Maddie any hint of who her biological parents were, that appears to be one mystery that will never be solved. Until Maddie discovers a key that opens a safe deposit box containing a bracelet with a mysterious engraving.
As Maddie unravels the clues to her own origins, the rest of the Babbling Brook residents contribute in their unique ways…Myrtle with her snooping and swoops of inspiration, Lillian with a hat, and Josephine and Norman with unswerving support.
